Developing and deploying a robotics data visualization web viewer for an openly accessible dataset.
Project Overview
Themes: Robotics Data; Data Visualization; Open Data
Approach: Software Development
Status: Complete
Duration: August 2025 – July 2026
Goals
This project aims to develop and deploy a robotics data visualization web viewer for an openly accessible dataset. The work involves converting MCAP format data to RRD format and building a web-based interactive visualization tool for exploring robotics sensor data.
Deliverables
This collaboration produced a robotics data showcase featuring interactive visualizations of data snippets and a download link for the complete public dataset.
- Data Processing pipeline - MCAP to RRD conversion
- Visualization Website - web-based interactive tool using Rerun Web SDK
Outcomes
A statically hosted web application displaying robotics data with the Rerun Web SDK, enabling 3D visualization, session playback, and temporal navigation of sensor data.
